Signs the host may be limiting you
- Repeated resource exhaustion under normal demand
- Slow server response after application optimization
- Traffic events repeatedly cause errors or timeouts
- You need staging, backups or deployment controls the host cannot provide
- Your availability requirements exceed the platform's design
Rule out application problems
Profile plugins, themes, database queries, external APIs, image weight and JavaScript. A larger server can hide inefficient code temporarily without fixing the cause.
Upgrade paths
The next step might be a higher shared plan, managed WordPress, managed cloud or VPS. Choose the smallest architectural change that solves the actual constraint.
