Workload fit
We consider application type, cacheability, dynamic concurrency, storage, traffic pattern and operational criticality.
Management model
We examine which tasks the provider handles and which remain with the customer: server maintenance, backups, monitoring, migrations, application debugging and scaling.
Performance and scaling
Documented architecture can indicate potential capability, but performance claims require context. We distinguish vendor-reported benchmarks from independently measured results.
Cost
We consider baseline pricing, variable usage, renewal structure, add-ons and the staff time needed to operate the platform.
