How Cloudways Works
Think of Cloudways as a management layer. You deploy and operate applications through Cloudways while the platform handles many recurring infrastructure tasks.

The three layers
- Your application: WordPress, WooCommerce or another supported app.
- Cloudways: provisioning, workflows, monitoring, caching, backups, security controls and support.
- Infrastructure: the compute, storage and network resources that actually run the application.
What you still control
Managed hosting does not remove every decision. On Flexible you still choose resource levels and manage the application itself. On Autonomous more scaling behavior is automated, but content, plugins, application configuration and business continuity still remain your responsibility.
Why this model exists
Raw cloud infrastructure is powerful but can create system-administration overhead. Traditional hosting is simpler but can constrain resource control. Cloudways tries to occupy the middle: provide cloud resources through a website-focused management interface.
