Cloudways Staging Explained
A staging environment is a safe place to test changes before they reach customers. Its value is procedural, not cosmetic.

What to test on staging
Theme updates, plugin changes, PHP-version changes, custom code, database migrations and major configuration changes should be validated before production when the risk justifies it.
Staging is not automatically current
A staging site can drift from production. Before testing a database-sensitive change, confirm whether you need fresh production data and be careful not to overwrite new orders, users or form submissions when pushing changes back.
Agency workflow
For agencies, staging becomes most useful when paired with a consistent approval and deployment process: clone, change, test, client review, backup, deploy, verify.
