Cloudways Security: What the Platform Covers

Managed hosting can reduce infrastructure security work, but it does not make an application secure by default.

Platform controls

Cloudways currently promotes built-in firewall controls, IP blocking/allowlisting, malware-related protection on relevant offerings, SSL, vulnerability scanning and Cloudflare-based protection options. Availability differs by product and integration.

Application responsibilities remain

WordPress administrators still need strong authentication, careful plugin selection, timely updates, least-privilege accounts and secure third-party integrations. A firewall cannot fix a compromised administrator password or unsafe custom code.

Recovery is part of security

Backups, restore tests and incident procedures are security controls too. The goal is not only to prevent every incident but also to limit damage and recover predictably.
